This part of the city is called Gradiziol, and as a suburb it developed during the 14th and 15th centuries. Gradiziol was entered through a door that was located at the beginning of today's street. The northern approach to the suburbs was guarded by a series of tall, partly fortified houses, and the southern side by a moat wall (Fossal Street). Today's appearance of Gradiziol was given in the 18th century with minor architectural interventions during the 19th century.
