Loggia
The 17th-century Motovun Loggia is a historic town square landmark that once served as a center for legal and civic life and is now a popular viewpoint overlooking the Mirna river valley.
Loggia- Today's town loggia was built in the 17th century on the lower square, and it is believed that the older town loggia, first mentioned as "Lobbia Maior" in 1331, was located in the area of Polesini Palace in the first ring of defensive walls. Under the roof of the 17th century loggia, decisions were announced to citizens, judges made judgments, important contracts were made, but it also served as a promenade where shy looks of sympathy and love were exchanged by young people of many generations before sunset. Today, the Motovun loggia is one of the most popular "instagrammable" locations due to the beautiful view of the Mirna river valley, Motovun forest and unforgettable sunsets.
