Borgo- The suburb of Borgo developed during the 14th century, and until the 17th century it was surrounded by walls, of which only fragments and the "Gothic gate" near the church of Sv. John the Baptist and the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Gate are visible today. A street descends through Borgo, along which mostly residential buildings line up on each side in an almost uninterrupted row. In addition to residential buildings in this part of town we find the church of St. Anthony of Padua and St. Cyprian, and an almshouse or hospice.
