Josef Ressel Square is a scenic lower square in Motovun, named after the inventor of the ship's propeller, offering restaurant terraces with panoramic views of the Mirna river valley and Motovun forest.

Josef Ressel Square- The lower square today proudly bears the name of Josef Ressel, a forester and inventor who worked in Motovun at the beginning of the 19th century, and who became famous for the invention of the ship's propeller. The lower square is actually a platform erected between the municipal palace and the second ring of the city walls, on which today are the terraces of numerous restaurants with a beautiful view of the Mirna river valley, Motovun forest and unforgettable sunsets.
